Sauna buying and installation FAQs

The configured price covers the core build, the selected heating or cooling equipment, delivery and professional installation within the confirmed scope and service area. On eligible outdoor saunas, standard electric heat adds $450. If you choose an upgraded electric heater, its displayed price already includes that $450 amount, so there is no second electric-package line. HST is added at invoice. Site work, difficult access, cranes, barges, foundations and electrical work are included only when written into the quote.

That depends on the model, room volume, glazing, site and the experience you want. Wood-fired heat suits the traditional cottage ritual and does not require a 240-volt sauna-heater connection. Electric heat is simple to operate but requires the correct electrical preparation. Six-foot-diameter Classic and Premium Barrels are offered as wood-burning only, and the Indoor Sauna is electric.

The sauna needs a flat, level, stable base that is ready before delivery. Depending on the project, that may be a properly prepared gravel pad, patio stones, concrete or a structure designed for the load. Burnwell confirms the model-specific requirements and sends a site-readiness checklist.

Delivery is included for addresses inside Burnwell’s mapped Southern and Central Ontario service boundary. Exact coverage is confirmed by address, especially near the boundary. Difficult access, barges, cranes and work outside the mapped area require a separate written scope.

Many standard written estimates use approximately three to four weeks from cleared deposit, but timing depends on the exact build, supplier schedule, site readiness and season. The current written estimate for the particular order controls.

A 50% deposit is common and reserves the build and installation window once it has cleared. The exact deposit, remaining balance and payment timing are stated in your quote and signed agreement.

Burnwell-installed saunas and sheds are commonly described with a five-year workmanship warranty, and heaters with two-year coverage under the applicable terms. Tubs use separate two-year wording. Your signed customer agreement and current product warranty always control.

Permit, inspection and electrical requirements depend on the property, municipality and selected equipment. The owner remains responsible for site approvals unless a written scope says otherwise. Electrical design and connection must follow the exact heater instructions and be completed through the appropriate licensed electrical contractor.
