Pick the spot for the way you’ll use it.
Think about the walk from the house in January, which way the door faces, how private the benches feel and what you’ll see through the glass. Leave room to walk around the sauna, and room for the heater’s clearances.
Send us photos of the spot before you settle on it. The exact model and heater decide the final requirements, and we’d rather catch a problem in a photo than on the day.
Build a flat, stable base.
A compacted gravel pad, patio stones or a concrete pad all work, depending on the model and the ground. Wait for the confirmed footprint from us before you size it, and plan for drainage and for how the ground moves through the seasons.
Preparing the base is your part of the job; delivery and installation inside our service area are ours. If the sauna is going on a deck or another raised structure, have a qualified professional confirm it will carry the finished load.
Show us the route in.
Photos and a few measurements of the way in save everyone a surprise on delivery day: gates, tight turns, slopes, overhead branches or wires, and the last stretch to the base.
Tell us early about soft ground, stairs, docks or island access. If your property needs a barge or a crane, we’ll arrange and quote it before the order is finalized.
Plan for the heat.
A wood-fired sauna needs the right chimney and clearances for its stove. An electric sauna needs a supply and connection sized for its heater. Both are set out in the equipment documentation, and we’ll walk you through what applies to your build.
Electrical hookup is not part of the sauna price. Within about an hour of Huntsville, we can arrange it as a separate service. Elsewhere, your electrician makes the connection.
Installation-day checklist.
Before we arrive, make sure:
- The agreed base is finished, level and clear.
- The route in is free of vehicles, materials, snow and debris.
- We have current photos, measurements and directions.
- Any approvals and separately arranged work are in hand.
- Children and pets can stay clear of the work area.
- We know about anything that has changed since we last spoke.
